These stands are well made and heavy, the base is designed so it is very stable when assembled which is exactly what I wanted. They are also very stylish and fit in with the contemporary decor and open floor plan at our home. The reason I did not give them 5-stars is the powder coating finish is very!!! easy to mar when you assemble them; so easy that I feel they should have came with either a small can of touch up paint or the EXACT color and brand of paint that matches the finish that could be purchased locally to do so. Be VERY careful when you assemble them, especially where the rods touch the base; as you install the each rod try and hold it firmly down on the base while tightening the screw so they don't "wobble" and scratch off the coating.
