Great HD.

My HD began to fail a few weeks ago in my Dell Inspiron 1720, so I was forced to pick this up as a replacement. So far, so good. For the memory available, it's priced to move. Very easy to install. Would definitely advocate buying through Amazon over somewhere like Dell.A note to any potential buyers: it does not include the HD bay or connector, so if you're planning on adding a 2nd drive to your laptop (assuming you have the option), you'll have to buy those separately. If you're just buying this as a replacement, you should have these parts already attached to your current drive. Just remove them and slap it on this, and you're good to go.Also, and this goes without saying, it's a bare drive. There is no pre-installed OS or software packages.

Good Product, Excellent Service

The product itself is great. For the memory, it's beautifully priced and worth every penny. Accelerated shipping is fairly priced, which is good since overnight shipping is outright not. Shipping shouldn't be over 40% of the price, even with overnight delivery. This may be partly due to the low cost of the high quality product, but...As most people who shop for hard drives know, they do sometimes just die. This one did, but Arch Computers came through with their 3 year warranty, and their customer service people are nice and easy to work with. Within a day I had the return label given to me by Arch, and rather quickly the old one made it's way back and the new drive came to me. It has a great amount of memory, so I can install more programs than with my old 300-some gigabyte drive. The warranty is nothing to sneeze at, for sure.Overall the drive is well priced, easy to install (4 screws people!), and the company is in contrast to the asinine big business stores that would normally run you through all the hoops and whatnot before finally relenting and replacing the faulty product. I'd easily buy a hard drive from Arch again, be it for myself or someone I know.As a final note, it is only a hard drive. If you want this to serve as a second drive, you'll want to buy additional parts that will allow you to actually install the hard drive, being the tray and the nice external slot filling hunk of plastic. If it's a replacement, this is all you need.

Very easy to install

So simple a child could have installed it. Very reasonably priced. Computer repair shop wanted over $350 for a similar type of hard drive from them.
