This Honeywell weather resistant, solar speaker is THE speaker to meet all your party needs!
By D. Fowler
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1J2L5RVDGSF4B Wireless outdoor speakers are a hot commodity these days, but this "green" solar powered Honeywell speaker is nothing short of a dream machine for your party needs. You'll no longer have to deal with hanging your speakers out of windows or trying to use multiple extension cords to provide music for your party. Add weather resistance to the mix and you have a perfect speaker.Perhaps one of the most advantageous features of this speaker is the ability to adjust it via remote control without budging from your chair. The best feature by far is that this outdoor speaker contains solar cells that will recharge the unit. You can also charge the speaker with the AC/DC adaptor.Included in this box is the solar speaker, a remote control, docking station, solar speaker AC adaptor, an auxiliary cable, an audio cable, docking station AC adaptor, and four docking station adaptors (10GB/20GB, TOUCH 8, 16, 32GB, NANO, 30GB/60GB, and a mini). This speaker has a fantastic retro look that reminded many who looked at it of the robot in the Lost in Space series. Danger, danger Will Robinson . . . you're going to fall in love with this speaker! Just check out the video and see what you think ...

Good looking and convenient
By R. Smith
this is a nice looking little outdoor speaker. I have tried it with two different generation ipods and my iPhone 4 and they both work.I fully charged the little wireless docking unit and the speaker unit before testing. the wireless docking unit only operated for about 3 hours before it ran out of power. Very disappointing.the speaker unit solar panel works great, and keeps the speaker unit charged. However, you have to lift the unit and access the underside to get at the dial control, which has OFF, and 3 different frequency positions. The unit is very light, and I guess it makes sense to have the controls protected on the base. However, I have the unit on a back brick patio, and heavy rains sometimes cause water an inch deep. therefore, make sure you put the speaker where standing water can't get to it.The little remote works OK, but watch out that you don't lose it.The sound quality is fine for small gatherings. don't turn up the sound too high, or the speaker will crackle and the sound will distort. It is a single downfiring midrange speaker.Overall, this item is pretty nice for a small outdoor speaker, but I would not pay over $150 for it. The quality of the sound is just not good enough.

Unremarkable Sound, But Does What It Says
By Poogy
This product does do exactly what it says: provide solar-powered sound from my mp3 player outdoors. The plastic unit is substantial and solid; I haven't subjected it to a rainstorm and don't intend to--I keep it under a canopy outside--but it seems well designed to resist indirect weather. It charges within a few hours using the AC adapter, and if it's exposed to sunlight regularly, it will just keep playing, although the dock into which the iPod sits will have to be charged with its own adapter periodically. The wireless remote adjusts sound level and bass, and will skip forward and back through tracks on the iPod; it works well at a distance of at least 20 feet. The iPod itself fits in a dock that wirelessly connects to the speaker, again up to at least 20 feet. When the dock is plugged into an outlet, it will charge the iPod.The speaker is attractive, and at night it automatically casts a pretty blue light. Both the dock and the speaker have indicator lights to show level of charge.Although it all works, this product is designed for someone who really values the convenience and utility of a weather-resistant, remote-controlled, solar-powered speaker, rather than someone looking for a great-sounding speaker that just happens to be weather-resistant. The speaker on this unit is neither very large nor very high quality, and there being only one, it's not stereo. If sound quality is what's most important to you, you can do much better for the price with a compact stereo that will dock an mp3 player and play CDs and the radio as well, but which you shouldn't leave outside, and which has to be plugged in all the time, or get a portable boombox that will run on batteries that sounds far better for a fraction of the price. The unit is relatively bulky and heavy, so it's not suitable for a backpacking trip, although fine for car camping. But if you like the idea of having something out by the pool that can just stay there and doesn't need batteries, this may be just the ticket.
