By Joe
First of all, this is for cars with the sat radio, there is a "NIS" version for non sat radio cars. You dont need to have satellite radio but your car needs to be wired for satellite radio. Just read the item description before purchasing. For my car, all the audio is in the trunk, makes the install easy. open all the panels in the trunk (clips, just need a flathead). upper right side there is a mount with sat radio. read the directions and connect the cable. It only fits in one way so you cant connect it to the wrong place. That cable needs to make it to the inside of the car. Its a long cable, just under 20 feet I believe. I pushed it through some holes in the trunk into the rear deck/rear seat area and then followed the side of the back seat. Its easy to remove the back seats so just find a good routing option that doesnt make too much cable rubbing. Anyway, then you can fish the cable through the tiny piece of carpet to the center console and find a strategic way to get that cable inside. Honestly, at this point you could put the little module anywhere, but find a place where it is accessible.I managed to get it into the center console with drilling some holes that are not visible and mostly fishing through the carpet. The cable has a very wide connector so its hard to fish. Keep that in mind. Anyway, once it is all setup, read the directions to program it.When I read the directions first I was lost. I am relatively tech savvy but I was lost trying to understand why you press all the buttons and what it is doing. DONT THINK ABOUT IT. just follow the directions and press what it says and when its all done, it will just work how it says.Audio quality is great with the iphone interface, have not really delved into the 3.5mm thing. The User interface is crude but what do you expect if you need to keep it compliant with the factory user interface, thats as good as you will get with all factory interface. If you followed the directions on setup, you just press preset A to get into the iphone audio, then press 1-6 for selecting to play by artist, album, playlist, direct, etc. But I dont really do that. I press preset A, then just plug it in and find what I want on the phone and hit play. from then, I use track change to skip and move around. Trying to change folders and artists while driving by pressing factory buttons is just as dangerous as pressing iphone buttons.I typically play pandora and I use the tune button to skip songs. if you are using the iphone control and it says something like "dont touch me, im an accessory" on your phone... its because you are in playlist, track, artist, etc mode. Just press the button for direct to fix it. Or you can unplug it, find your song and press play. then when you plug it in, it will play.Again, there are some weird things, but its all in the little manual. And its not their fault, thats just how the interface works. Im very happy with it. Being able to play pandora in the car means I dont have to burn CDs or pay for satellite radio. You can still access sat radio by exiting and returning to the sat radio. each time you exit and return, it switches from sat to iphone. Anyway, just read the manual. you can download it from their website first if you want to see what you are getting into. A paper manual comes with the box.I found that the display has more information for songs in the "status" screen on my car vs the audio screen. With pandora on direct mode, the audio tells you pretty much nothing, but the status screen will display artist and track. The audio screen is helpful if you are accessing your own music with folders and playlists. Steering wheel control works weird. My wheel has a nob for changing tracks but with this setup, it controls the 1-6 button and appears to skip 2 settings. so if you are in 2 and press down, you end up in 4. I might be doing something wrong, but dont count on the steering wheel control to work or make sense.

I installed this in my 2007 Nissan Altima with navigation system (Bose system and CD changer). It took a little bit of time to figure out how to fit the cables in the dash, but in under an hour we had gotten it installed. You could probably do this by yourself if you know what you are doing, but I installed it with help and it went smoothly. Do read the instructions/manual, especially if you have an 07-09 Altima as the installation differs from the manual a bit. For me I needed to connect it to the CD player and not the Satellite Receiver. It was pretty easy to get the system up and running and it worked on the first try. Sometimes I will get a little lost in the menu system. For example if you are looking for a specific playlist it might be difficult to get to the folder with playlists; however, once you find what you are looking for it is very easy to skip through songs. The audio quality is very good and it looks like when switch to radio or a CD the iPod will pick up where it left off.My only complaint is the menu used to access content on the iPod, but that is likely a limitation of the Nissan Audio/Navigation system. I would definitely recommend this as a nice addition to your car.Cons:Menu structure could be better (but this is probably a Nissan issue)Pros:Easy to use once you get to your playlistGood audio qualityOverall:I would buy it again and definitely recommend it.

By Sean M Slovney
Installed in a 2007 Nissan Altima 3.5SE without any issues. Integrates with the factory Bose navigation system nicely, displaying song information and charges your ipod/iphone while in use. Although you can change songs with buttons on deck & steering wheel, you cannot change playlists unless the car is stopped using the navigation touchscreen. Not a big deal but every now and then it becomes an annoying nuisance. Would still recommend if you have an Infiniti or Nissan vehicle with a factory deck that you would like to integrate with your ipod/iphone.
