I have no complaints about Akdy. They responded quickly to our needs. Our contractor and the electrician were not happy about how difficult the unit is to install. I was not happy about the blue LED lights that come with it. The lights shed a "midnight in Bethlehem" glow on the cooktop. Home Depot doesn't have replacement lights. I will update this note when I find white light replacements.

My husband installed this range hood for me. It took two days to get it put in. The instructions are not clear at all. I recommend that you practice "installing" it on the ground first before putting it up in the ceiling. As someone else said, it required framing in the ceiling to make a solid support (came with drywall anchors, which would never have held it up). Despite a hard installation and some oddities, I like how it looks, and it works just fine.

I just installed it for a friend and it works and looks good. No idea about the longevity of the product but the only negative I have at this point is that it was installed in a place with a less than 8 foot ceiling and there is no way to make it shorter. This means that taller (5'9" and above) could be banging their heads if they don't watch aout.
