Product Description
PUMA White Hunter. PUMA Gold series- these knives are made in Solingen, Germany and have long set the standard for the ultimate hunting knife. Whether for skinning, caping or general work, PUMA knives are the best you can get. The stag handles are formed from the shed antlers of Wild Stag Deer and each stag-handled knife is truly unique, one-of-a-kind tool. Each scale (handle) is boiled, stretch and dried over a period of weeks. It is then individually cut and hand fitted to your knife. Depending on the model, brass rivets are then used to attach the scales to the knife and they are welded together. The rivet heads are then filed and finally burnished off for the best fit and function imaginable. While this old-fashioned manufacturing method is more expensive, we think this is the way to make a one-of-a-kind knife. The handle edges are rounded for comfort. Hold a PUMA knife in your hand, and feel the difference. Kraton and wood handled-knives are modern versions of the traditional stag handle knife. Blade Length: 6. Blade Steel/hardness: 1.4116/ 55-57 HRC. Blade Thickness: 5 mm. Overall Length: 10 5/8. Handle Material: Staghorn. Carry System: Brown Leather Sheath.

I got the Puma White Hunter some 30+ years ago, when first cut my finger well down to the bone and learned to respect it. Since then we share a friendly relationship. I took it with me on my travels throughout the world and still it goes strong. A quality knife unsurpassed that never failed. If you need something that works for you (and is pretty too) and you want to only carry one knife, go for this knife. The overall quality is at the top end of line: solid, robust, tough, well balanced and just nice to handle. It's a knife that's works for hunting, camping and in survival situations and for many other chores in the outdoors. Well, the drawback of course is the prize, really not inexpensive, but you may find it for some $200+ (50% off)if you don't purchase directly from the manufacturer. And well, I do not get paid by Puma for this review, I'm just a customer satisfied with this product.

This knife is cheaper now than it was in the 70's when I couldn't afford it, and was probably to young to own anyways. The German craftsmanship is second to none and just as good as it was 40 years ago. No disappointment here. I also have the Skinner, just as nice, just a little smaller. Puma ROCKS !
