I previously had one of the smaller Winchester Evault safes, and the lock finally broke.I was looking for a safe that was:- Bigger than the Gunvaults and my old Evault.- Would still fit easily on the shelf in my closet, without being too wide or tall, and can bolt it down.- Wasn't too heavy- Opened after the code was entered, without the need to fumble around and turn the handle under stress.- Has keyed backup.- Large number of combinations.This safe has fit the bill very nicely, I highly recommend it. I currently have 4 handguns in there, mags, some ammo, and room for more.Pros:Fit all of my criteria. Sturdy and strong.Cons:First, none of the below I expected this would have, so not really a ding on the product. Just minor things I changed to improve it for my own needs and may help someone else.- No way to turn off the keypad beep. If you are even somewhat hands-on, you can simply find the mini speaker on the circuit board in the back of the door and cut if off. I did this, no issues, and now it's silent. Probably voids the warranty. I knew how to solder it back if it caused problems, so I wasn't worried about it.- The keypad isn't lit, so I can't see it in the dark. No worries, I added this to the front, which I also have on my larger safe: Cannon Safe SSL-03-Electronic Lock Security Safe Light, problem solved.- This safe doesn't have a 120V adapter. It's battery only, not battery backup like the Evaults. With that said, my batteries are nearly a year old at this point and the safe is opened at least twice per day. It does have a low battery indicator.- No interior light. Also not a big deal, but something I missed from my old Winchester. So I added one of these Mr. Beams MB 722 Battery Powered Motion Sensing LED Stick Anywhere Night Light, White. I open the safe door, the light comes on for a minute or so.- The shelf that comes with it isn't padded, so it's kinda noisy. I glued a little piece of carpet to the shelf, so not a problem.- I could stuff more in there if it had two shelves.

I am very satisfied with this security safe that I purchased from Amazon. It is much larger than I expected. Lots of room inside for documents and handguns. It also can be attached to the floor or a shelf, thus making it more difficult to steal. I also ordered a motion sensor light to place inside the safe and a small red light magnetic light that illuminates the keypad in darkness. Two small additions that really raise this safe to a first class safe. I have had no problems with it so far, but have only used it for about a month. I researched all the safes in this price range, and looked at most of them in person. This is ths most solid, largest for the money, and attractive digital safe that I found in this price range. Great size! Love the key pad...and the fact you can bolt to the wall!! Def a great buy! Perfect for a few hand guns, important papers, passport, etc.
