I suppose it does seem absurd to be writing a review of a toilet seat. A TOILET SEAT? Well, yes, I suppose it is, but as it's one of life's necessities we use on a regular basis, having a review will hopefully be able to help you separate out the good ones from the more, um, downright shoddy. As a toilet seat is not something you replace that often, you want to make the right purchase, the first time. After a lot of research, yes, real research, this is the one we selected.The most compelling feature is the STA-TITE fastening system. Once you put this one on the toilet, it is ON the toilet. No working loose, no sliding around, it just stays put. As it should. The other feature that's nice wasn't quite so obvious at first, but is very nice to have. How many times have you been moving the lid or seat up or down, only to have it slip out of your hands? That momentary panic when you hear the BANG of the lid or seat, wondering if you've cracked the porcelain of the toilet itself, and there would be a big bill for you?!!! Not an issue with this toilet seat. Both the seat and lid go up and down, nice and slow. It is also easy to clean and the seat is comfortable for when you need to use it for the intended purpose. Seems durable and if it lasts, well worth the extra money compared to cheaper models.
