This beautifully constructed quality muzzle works wonderfully with my Neapolitan Mastiff. It allows him to breath and pant freely when we are training and working on socialization on leash in close quarters with strangers and other dogs (which is the only time he wears it except for vet visits). I did have to modify it by cutting one of the straps near the front so that I could feed him rewards, however this was easy and in in no way seems to have compromised the strength or integrity of the muzzle. If your dog occasionally lunges, this soft leather harness is much less likely to injure a person or animal than a wire cage type muzzle. We use it in combination with a Halti head harness and leash, clipping the leash to the head harness between the two rear lower straps of the muzzle.
