This gorgeous black pearl rope is oh so luxurious. Imbued with a pop of color, these handpicked ultra-orient freshwater pearls were color treated to create richly toned, color fast surfaces. The off round pearls are treasured for their intense surface iridescence, sharp luster and smooth surfaces. Handpicked for their extremely rare surface orient characteristics, the colorful iridescence of these pearls add to the depth and complexity of the piece. We purposefully selected an eclectic assortment of overtones to mix around the strand including purple, blue-green, cranberry and copper (although commonly referred to as black pearls due to their dark colors, real cultured pearls are never jet black). The metallic-like luster on these pearls will capture the light and reflect the various hues depending on lighting and what they are worn with. The colorful iridescence of the pearls adds to the allure of the design and allows the piece to perfectly complement many colors in the wardrobe. HinsonGayle Glamour Collection Ultra-Luster Black Cultured Pearl Rope Necklace (65 inches)I know just enough about buying pearls to know real ones from fake ,but after that I'm no expert , I will say this though after much comparison shopping and reading as well , these pearls are definetly worth the investment, they have. Great sheen, and very smooth and round ,My wife thought they were just awesome so , I'm going to buy her some more of a different type, from HinsonGayle I don't see how I could go wrong, she says a woman can never have to many pearls.

I got them for my wife for our anniversary. They are absolutely gorgeous! Their luster is fabulous! However, be aware that since they are pearls and not beads, their color is not an absolute glossy black like beads. It has a kind of purplish hue or sheen to them because they ARE pearls. In any case, a VERY fine product that my wife was both surprised and thrilled by.
