I got this rail system with the idea of making my Galil more functional and accessory friendly, like an AR I guess. Once you get it fixed on your rifle it does offer plenty of room for any toys that you want to add but it also makes the front end of your rifle MUCH heavier! I found that another problem is that the top rail extension is very close to the bolt handle and I actually cut up some fingers on the railing at the range the first time out. Overall if you're adding aftermarket lights and sights it's a good choice but I would consider cutting the top rail off just in front of the ejection port.
