The CalDigit 775503 VR Mini 1TB Hard Drive Array delivers a fail-safe storage solution. As configured, the portable array offers an impressive 1TB of storage spread across 2 hard drives, both of which are hot swappable. It features eSATA, FireWire-800, FireWire-400 and USB 2.0 connectivity. The array can be configured in several configurations, including RAID 0 for maximum performance, RAID 1 for data mirroring, or as JBOD allowing you to access each hard drive as a separate volume. Nice unit for backup. This one only has 5400RPM drives. Thought all CalDigit were 7200RPM but not so. Works well and easy to configure.

portable ext. hard drive

Surprised how small this RAID unit is. Solid build. Easy menu to work on the hard drive or software on laptop. The fact that it's a dual drive @ 2 terabytes with removable drives makes it really a flexible unit to work with. I'm using it to down load photos from the field so it's great to be able to mirror all the photos on the second drive for security purposes. Plus it's bus powered. less cables in the field. Recommended for photography and video.
