Great for running
By Stephen M. Charme
I am a serious runner (1200 miles per year) and have been using this vest for the past six months. It works really well. Here is why I like it:1. It is thin and lightweight, but also stops the wind very effectively. I recently was running directly into a 15 MPH wind and felt nothing on my chest.2. It is useful over a wide range of temperatures. On a recent run the temperature increased from the high 30s to the low 50s over the course of a few hours. Because this vest breathes so well and absorbs perspiration easily, I was not "drenched" with sweat when I finished my run.Although the vest was pretty well soaked with perspiration, my base layer was not, which meant that I could run comfortably for the whole run. Therefore even though this is a bit heavier than a lighter nylon running vest that I have, it actually works better in warmer temperatures, because the nylon vest does not absorb perspiration very well.3. It has a nice sleek fit and feels very comfortable to run with. It also runs true to size. If you like a looser fit, or plan to wear this over multiple layers (it works fine over a single thin base layer) you may want to size up.4. It is very well made. The zipper easily opens and closes, and there are three generous pockets (one on each side, and one on the right side of the chest).I bought this for much less than the price on Amazon at my local REI in the fall, which is when this goes on sale. For colder conditions when a vest alone is not enough, I recommend the Windstopper Tech Jacket, which is made out of the same material as the vest.Bottom Line: I own lots of running vests, and this is one of my favorites. I recommend it.

Perfect middleground
By Tommy TuTacos
I took this mountaineering in January where the temperature was around 40 in the sun with 15mph winds, bringing the wind chill to around freezing. I had two layers under this - a tee and a long sleeve technical - and the whole ensemble was perfect! In the sun with no wind I wasn't sweating and after cresting the ridge the cold didn't drive me to cover. I have the MH Dome Perignon and if this vest's durability is anything like that hat I'll be very happy.

Quality vest

This is the third Mountain Hardware vest I bought for my wife. She lives in this vest and loves it! Good quality. Reasonable price.
