A new twist on classic wooden blocks.
By Nuknuk
I love playing wooden blocks since I was a child. But there is a different twist with these wooden blocks - magnets - not flimsy magnets, but real powerful magnets. Each block is embedded with a magnet that makes the satisfying clicks every time you put them together. It is strong enough to make them hold together, but not too strong to squeeze or injure a child's little fingers. The quality of each piece is superb. It has no sharp edges whatsoever. Workmanship is fantastic.I have 3 kids (5, 6 and 11 years old) who plays with them for hours. They also love to bring them in the car. It is also one of those nerdy toys that is great as an office desk toy, like those bucky magnets or Japanese zen sand boxes.I first wondered what kind of wood they were using to make them. I found the answer from their website. The wood is called "Huesito", also called bonewood, a kind of hardwood that is light and dense, and often used to make tool handles. It is not very popular in US, but grows in abundance in Honduras. It has grain patterns that look nice and fairly represented on these toy blocks. The manufacturer makes claim of embracing the green movement and protecting the environment. Their have a mission of helping the poor section of Honduras whence they manufacture these toys, creating jobs and putting street kids to school. One tree can harvest 500 sets of toy blocks, and for every block set they sell, they plant 12 new trees helping reforestation in Honduras.Cons:At the time of this review, I wish that they can bring down the prices so that more kids will have a chance to play with them.

Tegu Blocks
By Matt
I have bought a few sets of Tegu blocks for my 3 and 4 year old boys. They really enjoy building structures and snakes throughout the house as well as incorporating play with their existing toys. The magnetic blocks make great freight for their Thomas rail cars. The imaginative play of these blocks is unparalleled among other toys in our house. With so many plastic junk toys flooding the market, the design and quality is greatly appreciated. Thanks Tegu!

fabulous gift for any age children
By beccahogan
These blocks are incredible. Trying to get my kids to enjoy more imaginative play instead of video games, tv..etc. These blocks definitely spur on their creativity. They are made of Honduran hardwoods and each tree they use provides over 1,000 sets of blocks. They also plant a new tree for every ten sets they sell. I love this. I love that they are providing jobs in the third world, and that they are bettering our environment by adding more trees.
