5Best buy of my year
By Trevor
These are excellent lights with an almost perfect daylight balance (there is a shift, but it's difficult to notice and so far after 3 videos nobody has commented on it within my company.) For the price these were the deal of the century, and it's a good thing since I could not afford much more, but really needed to look professional for the sake of my job security. These were a huge hit with the executives I have filmed and they are by far the best continuous lights I have owned. If we are comparing these to kino flows, I truly believe these have some strengths the Kino's do not despite Kino's being a far superior (but very different - they are not LED's) product. For anyone who doesn't have 700-1200 dollars laying around per light, these are the best deal you will possibly find. Highly recommended.(FYI I am a Brooks Institute of Photography graduate from the photography program with a focus on video, so I have utilized many different types of lighting)

3not bad, not great because of flicker
By Steve Oakley
They have a model II with a better power supply, it costs a bit more but buy that one instead. you would expect that since LED's are DC devices, flicker should not be an issue, but it is. If you shoot above 1/60th of a second you'll see flicker. if you shoot 23.976 you get roll bars / lumination variance over a minute or two. its not something you'll notice at normal speed, but scan thru the footage and its instantly visible. this makes cutting shots together a potental problem in real life editing where you put different bits together.barn doors : 3 out of 4 work - as in stay in position where you set them. the TOP barn door refuses to tighten up. when I do, it just comes loose again after 1-2 open / closes. the problem is the cheap lock nuts that don't lock. I supposed replacing the hardware will fix it. bottom line is the barn doors are pretty krappy.speaking of which, the barn doors have this reflective aluminum on them. thats cool, but the weird part is they are mounted with velcro. while that sounds cool, in reality the velcro is so stiff and the reflectors so soft there is no way to remove them with out totally bending up the reflectors. pretty dumb. they should just glue the reflectors on.also on the topic of barn doors - they have this 1/8th inch turned edge. its weird because it makes clipping gels up to them tricky. C47's have a harder time grabber them as compared to normal flat B.D'sthen there is the main reflector. it flexes outward causing loss of light because it moves forwards of the LED's emition base. I'm sure if I want to completely take the front of the light apart, spray it with some high quality adhesive, stick it down, then I could get it to sit flat.on some level, I don't mind doing some mods / fixes to make it good, but if you don't, you may want to consider another light. for the price, you have to say you get what you pay for.the light does make plenty of light for sure, especially for 60W of draw. that said : at 5600K it looks pretty good next to my HMI's. however if I CTO it to 3200K, its most certainly has a green cast to it. :(. add on some 1/4 minus green. while its still a usable amount of light, its not ideal. there really needs to be better CRI LED's out there that can make a light like this work better.

5Best value for money.
By Shane Harder
This light is amazingly bright. It's got 4 banks that go on with every other row of lights which basically acts as a dimmer. I've used it for about a week and got one dead LED. Down to 999 which really is no big deal for me other than it looks like my equipment has been through more shoots which I kinda like. It's so so much cheaper than the litepannels lights and just as awesome with 2 drawbacks.1. It's only AC power so if you want to bring it anywhere that doesn't have an AC plug you need to buy portable power (which I found on Amazon for like $80).2. The part you attach onto a light stand isn't as good as the one's from Lite Pannels because you tilt it from it's base which makes it unstable if you tilt the light any direction but straight ahead. But this can be fixed if you get the other brackets that swivel from the sides and not ajusted from the bottom which there are slots for on this light to attach to.All in all, super bright awesome light!!
