E05 - Eye Liner: Create smooth and even lines. Use with gel or liquid liners.
E30 - Pencil: Soften and smoke out lines. Soften pencil liners along the top and bottom lash lines, add shadow to line the eyes, or use to highlight inner corner of eyes.
E40 - Tapered Blending: Soft blended crease. Using just the tips to apply color, sweep back and forth through the crease for a diffused and blended finish.
E55 - Eye Shading: Even application of color. Place color across the whole lid for an even and strong application of product.
E60 - Large Shader: Uniformly cover the whole lid with product. Apply cream shadow base or cream shadow for quick and even coverage.

Inconsistent quality

I purchased the complete brush set with pink brush roll from Sigma's website on 12-11-2010. I wanted to use the brushes for a while before writing a review so I could evaluate their performance. While some of the brushes are good, others are not. I find inconsistent quality to be a problem with Sigma. Of the brush set the F30 large powder brush sheds badly and is getting worse with continued washing and use. The F50 duo fibre brush is not dense enough or have enough white fibers to be used as a stippling brush, although I do like it for blush application. The E40 tapered blending brush is very loose and floppy - useless for applying color to the crease or for blending. It also blew out and lost shape after washing. The other brushes are quite good. I like and use all of the other eyebrushes daily and have had no issues with shedding or shape loss. The F60 foundation brush and the F40 large angle contour brush are also very good. Sigma customer service was good. My E30 was missing from my order when it arrived. I contacted customer service and they sent me one quickly. I purchased the complete brush set because I had bought the 3 piece synthetic brush set earlier and was very impressed by it. I really love the F80, F82, and F84. I have been using them daily and washing them often and they have not shed one hair. They have held their shape and perform great. I was disappointed that the great quality of these brushes was not representative of the entire line. I am happy overall with my purchase and I do recommend it with resevations about quality control issues.

Warning: Sigma reviews are probably a little bias since they offer a free gift for customers who leave reviews. These brushes are nice, but for the money they cost, I was expecting a lot more. They are certainly not any better quality than the brushes at our local beauty supply store. I was absolutely disgusted to discover that Sigma included a card with my purchase that says, "A Free Gift For You! Thank you for purchasing our products on Amazon.com....Please take a moment to rate us as a seller and write a product review...Send a copy of your comments and your Amazon.com order number to...to receive a FREE GIFT!" I never leave reviews, but this really bothers me since I just bought overpriced brushes based on their high Amazon ratings.

I purchased this set directly from Sigma Beauty's website earlier this year (January or February 2012) and decided to use it for a bit of time to really test the quality of these brushes. I figured by this point, it had been used and washed a bunch of times and in the end, we all like to see how these products hold up over time.Upon initially receiving the brushes, the first thing I did was wash them. In the first wash, I noticed that the large powder brush was the only one that had noticeable shedding (maybe 4-5 strands).The duo-fiber brush I received wasn't as dense in comparison to some other YouTube reviewers, and the large powder brush wasn't as soft as I expected it to be. Some YouTube video reviewers said that their large powder brush was extremely soft, but mine seemed to be very average, and at times a little prickly. The large shader brush in my set had weird bristles, as if production of this brush was flawed because the cut for the brush shape at the top wasn't so great.The small angle brush is the one I use the most, for gel eyeliners. The brush itself is great, and I haven't had any shedding issues. Other brushes I enjoyed in this set were the large angled contour and eye shading brush.After a bunch of washings, the large powder brush, eye shading, and large angled contour are the ones that seem to shed the most, but not with each wash. For example, my large angled contour might shed 4-5 strands every 2-3 washes while my large powder brush sheds just 1 strand with each wash.Overall, this set is great for beginners who are looking for an affordable first set. However, I do agree with some other reviews that the quality in the entire set isn't consistent.
