Great deal

Gorgeous piece. Well made. Nice wood selection, inlays are well formed and tight.For my application, there is not much to dislike. It has a very thin neck!However, this is not a loud guitar. Very heavy clear-coat keeps acoustic volume on the low side. Alternately, it is good for live/amplified use, reduces feedback.I suspect there is significant variation in the quality of the spalting from unit to unit, bit of a crap shoot.Frets are not jumbo, but adequate for most.Overall I think this is a good value for ~$400

I own a Zager zad80ce that is my favorite guitar but is too sweet to drag arround in my job as a hospice chaplain, so I purchased the spalted maple Luna knowing it will probably take a beating. Fit and finish is beautiful, the nicest looking guitar I have owned. Sound is what I expected, bright and slightly trebble. My Zager has a cedar top and is warm and more bassy sounding. I chose the Luna for the contrast. Action was a little high so I pulled the saddle and sanded it untill the strings touched a quarter when placing it on the 12th frett. With elixer custom light strings the guitar is very playable. I ordered it with the Luna light hardshell case and dragging it through nursing homes and patient's homes is sure easier than with a regular hard case. My only complaint is this guitar is too pretty to be my beater guitar.
