Surely not perfect

Well I received my machine, uncrated and setup. I experienced 2 problems right away, the foot pedal leaned to 1 side very noticeably and the upper casting on both sides was not shaped correctly so if you inserted a piece of sheet metal against either of the side guide rulers and tried to slide it under the cutter you ran into the casting. I called Jet tech support and spoke to them about these problems and they suggested that I contact Amazon (heavy products division) for which he provided the phone # and have the unit swapped out, now I'm thinking oh great this ought to be fun, so I called, spoke to a very nice woman who apologized for the problem and I had a new machine in about a week and they picked up the dud all for no charge!!! You can't really ask for much better customer service then that.Now onto machine #2, so I uncrate and set up the new replacement machine and although the jump step is straight on this one, it also suffers from the casting problem that machine #1 had, I adjusted the rulers inward which helped get me closer but not enough so I contacted Jet again. I spoke to a nice Woman in tech support who offered to send a tech out to take a look, I inquired if I could just grind out a little of the casting as it is only a about 1/8" which she said was fine and she is also going to send me out some touch up paint.Now after the problems it is a nice machine. It cuts beautifully, is easy to operate and performs as I expected. I have cut aluminum, steel and plastic and it does a good job on all of these producing a finished edge that I am satisfied with. I am an occasional user (a few times per week average) so for my needs it works well, if I were going to use it a lot more I surely would have purchased a higher quality machine and probably power of some kind, but for what I am doing it fits the billAfter searching it seems that this is the same Chinese machine that is sold under many names to don't be influenced by the name "Jet" because other then the paint colors there is nothing Jet about it.
