Product Description

The Hanna Instruments 38178BP portable water test kit for educational use includes an assortment of 10 sets of tests that measure seven water quality parameters, a waterproof pH and temperature meter, a waterproof conductivity and total dissolved solids (TDS) meter, a secchi disk for turbidity, and lessons and activities that meet National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) standards. All contents are organized into a backpack for field use. The kit includes 110 tests each for acidity and alkalinity, and 100 tests each for carbon dioxide, dissolved oxygen, hardness, nitrate, and phosphate. Curriculum includes lesson plans and a 72-page teacher’s manual with information about each parameter, laminated laboratory instruction cards with step-by-step field test procedures, and reproducible lab activity worksheets with instructions, goals, hypothesis, and testing procedure results and observations. This kit is recommended for students age 14 and over, and can be used to help teach students to assess water quality of streams, rivers, and lakes.

Antioxidant for all around

As soon as I get these product from the mail I open it and try it. These product is recommended by a very good friends of mine who come here in the U.S. twice a year to visit. They always take home this product with them when they go back home. They said they've been using this for long time and they never get sick. This is what they give to their employee when they are sick.

Product Description

The HI 99121N is a portable, waterproof pH and temperature meter that comes with the HI 1292D pH electrode for measuring diluted soil samples or soil directly, and features a large LCD screen, automatic temperature compensation (ATC), a hold function to freeze and record results, and a battery error protection system (BEPS) to reduce inaccurate readings. The meter comes with the HI 1292D electrode, which has a sturdy conical tip that can be directly inserted in soft soil, and the HI 721319 plastic soil auger for perforating harder soil.

The meter features on-screen tutorial messages to assist with calibration, which is automatic at one or two points. The HI 99121N comes with (3) AAA 1.5 V batteries that provide approximately 1200 hours of continuous use (an auto off function shuts the meter off after 8 minutes of non-use). A 100 mL beaker and starter buffer, cleaning and soil preparation sachets are included.

pH range is -2.00 to 16.00 (+ or - 0.02pH) with a resolution of 0.01 pH. Temperature range is - 5.0 to 105.0 degrees C (23.0 to 221.0 degrees F) + or - 0.5 degrees C (up to 60 degrees C), + or - 1 degree C (outside); + or - 1.0 degree F (up to 140 degrees F), + or - 2 degrees F (outside), with a resolution of 0.1 degrees C or F. Dimensions are 152 x 58 x 30 mm (6.0 x 2.3 x 1.2”), with weight 205g (7.2 oz.).

Great Meter and easiest to use

I purchased one these HI 99121 meters a few years ago and I don't know how I survived without it! I mean you literally just stick the probe in the soil and you get a instant pH reading. I used to never check my soil pH simply because it was too time consuming, but now I check my soil every week. And its fun to use. Worth every penny! It is also very accurate. I compared it with university tests for the same soil and it was the same. I just had to share this with someone.Enjoy!
