Had a wheel drive system I purchased for the new boat lift, and my wife liked using it with loose fitting clothing. I could see an accident happening between the pinch roller and the wheel. Not pretty, so I decided to get a direct mount system, and after scouting around selected the Boat Lift Boss.Installation was a snap, and the adapter kit was perfect. A well thought out product that went together very nicely. What impressed me was the power drill adapter, which will allow me to run the hoist motor with a portable drill in the event of a power outage. More likely I'll leave the boat in the water, but a nice touch anyway.So how does it work? Great - lifts the boat without pausing, and in reasonable speed. Simple key to operate, and it's up or down. Can't get any better.An additional note - I contacted the manufacturer, and they answered the phone and my question promptly.I would recommend this lift to anyone. Boat weight doesn't seem to faze it and it has plenty of power (my boat weighs 2,200#, but raised it with additional 400# to see if it had the power I needed, and it did).
