If you use this product (or any other plastic bowl) for cat food, make sure to sterilize it regularly and discard it if it gets grooves. The grooves can harbor bacteria. I was lax, and my cat got an infection in his chin. It was *awful* to treat -- I had to wipe his chin with a medicine that stung, and he hated it so much he frothed at the mouth.
