4Great device, but needs some help...
By Barry Salmon
Purchased this along with a pair of Tripp Lite B136-101 receivers, so I could get some very large component cables up in the walls instead of running across my floor. The B136-101 units did a great job by themselves, however when I tried to feed them from my Cable box the B136-004 unit could not keep an audio signal for more than a few seconds before fading out. This happened with both the transmission to the B136-101 units, as well as even the local output ports. No combination of cables, even short 5 foot Cat-6 cables could not alleviate the effect. Tripp Lite tech support could not help with the issue, but they did send a replacement unit, but it had the same issue so I started looking at other solutions. I was able to get a good audio signal from other devices, so I tried a component video distribution amplifier between my Cable box and the B136-004. This not only boosted the signal enough to resolve the audio issue, I wound up with better picture quality than I got when utilizing just the B136-101 units. Great device, but me mindful of the output on your component video source as it may, or may not drive enough signal to utilize the device on it's own. Would've given 5 stars, except for the additional expense of having to get an amplifier device.

5Component Video splitter over Cat5
By ckChoy
Construction of the gadget is good. I can feel the quality of the product when I first received it. The plugs were all well soldered together (which come as a set) and best of all is the power supply pin which is screwed on. Also according to the instructions written in the booklet, one can daisy chain them together to get 1-to-7 instead of the 1-to-4 ports by purchasing 2 of these items (which I did later). Also the postal service was good. I received the 1st set within a week.

5Great cost saver for Plenum Ceiling
By Herbcarl
We needed a lower cost solution for the delivery of component signals to 4 monitors in a plenum ceiling. By using plenum rated Cat5e instead of plenum rated RGBVH we saved over $2 per foot on cable costs and lowered our labor costs by 30%. Picture quality did not suffer and the client was very pleased.
